A solar panel carport is a ground-mounted, canopy style installation, which is built over car parking spaces. The carport’s solar panels generate electricity, which is ready to be used on site immediately. Solar Car Parking Structure Types
Gull Wing
More panels, lower canopy, minimum height on centre line of canopy. Easy to direct rainwater to tarmac in the middle of the canopy. Support system for up to 6 PV panels in portrait giving the most kWp per space.
Double Mono
Less panels but all south facing, minimum height at end of space resulting in high rear canopy. Difficult to direct rainwater off canopy. Suggest letting it just fall off canopy on south side. Low cost support system for up to 5 PV panels in portrait for south facing location.
Single Mono
More panels, lower canopy, minimum height on centre line of canopy. Easy to direct rainwater to tarmac in the middle of the canopy. Declined or Inclined support structure for 3 PV panels in portrait. Ideal for EV charge points.
